Koroit Quick Chat: NOEL LANE
Noel Lane comes of the land where his family grew produce.
Guess picking and harvesting wasn’t for Noel because he moved into trucking. Today he has a fleet of 42 trucks running out of Killarney in Victoria’s South-West.
As well, it’s a mixed fleet with plenty of M-B Actros’, Volvo, a couple of DAF’s (recent additions) and of course the ubiquitous Kenworth.
Like others, Noel has found it hard to get drivers and went looking overseas. Here we meet Riaan Schmulling from South Africa, along with Pablo Gwada and Payne Mubaya, both from Zimbabwe.
Lovely fellas all, they hold Noel in high regard – not only because he’s a good boss and a good bloke – but because he wasn’t letting them loose on Australian roads until they met his high expectations, a result that’s good for all concerned.
