JASON HINDS: Shell Rimula Hall of Fame Inductee.
Jason’s career began with work experience at Northern Cement, followed by a four-year diesel mechanic apprenticeship with Cesco in Darwin in 1987. After three years with Mack Trucks, Jason joined Hamptons Transport Services in 1994, when the company was still establishing itself in the Northern Territory.
With just six cattle trucks based in Darwin, Jason soon found himself in Warrego, hauling concentrate to Mount Isa. That job marked the beginning of a 30-year journey with Hamptons. After several years in Warrego, he moved to Borroloola, servicing and maintaining the company’s equipment.
When Hamptons purchased RTA around 2006, Jason was heavily involved as the livestock fleet expanded to around 30 trucks operating across the NT, Queensland and WA. Over the years, he has managed countless trucks, trained and mentored more than 20 apprentices and tackled everything from roadside breakdowns to outback repairs and maintenance.
In 2010, Jason purchased his first truck, a Kenworth 2650, and established Hinds Haulage, which has since grown to three trucks.
