ISUZU ROADSHOW TACKLES THE TOP END IN EPIC ADELAIDE-TO-DARWIN RUN
The kilometres are stacking up and the red dust is still settling as Isuzu Australia’s 2026 National Roadshow completes one of the tour’s most ambitious stretches yet, with the convoy successfully rolling from Adelaide to Darwin through the red heart of Australia.
Covering more than 3,000 kilometres of highways, outback roads and iconic trucking routes, the latest leg of the seven-month national tour saw Isuzu’s heavy-duty MY25 line-up tested across some of the country’s toughest terrain.
With temperatures climbing, road trains looming large and more than a few servo coffee stops along the way, the roadshow team clocked-up well over 40 hours behind the wheel as they travelled north through the length of South Australia and the Northern Territory.
The route included key trucking hubs and regional centres including Adelaide, Port Augusta, Coober Pedy, Uluru, Alice Springs, Tennant Creek, Katherine and Darwin, giving operators, customers and the general public the opportunity to get up close with Isuzu’s all-new MY25 range.
Leading the charge on the Adelaide-to-Darwin leg were two of Isuzu’s heavy-duty performers - the all-new FYJ and FXD models.
Purpose-built for serious freight applications, the trucks handled the long-haul conditions effortlessly, showcasing the updated MY25 platform’s cab comfort, drivability, safety technology and heavy-duty capability.
IAL Head of Marketing & Customer Experience, John Walker, said the Adelaide-to-Darwin stretch represented exactly what the National Roadshow was designed to achieve.
“Anyone who’s driven this route knows it’s a genuine test for both truck and driver, not to mention a feast for the eyes. It’s one thing to launch a new model range in a showroom but taking these trucks across the centre of Australia and putting them to work in some of the toughest real-world conditions, is where this new range really shines.
“We’ve met operators from all corners of the industry throughout this leg, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.
“The comfort levels, the updated safety systems and the overall drive experience have all made a strong impression, especially over these long distances.”
According to IAL’s Sales Product Trainer and National Roadshow lead driver, Tim Richardson, the journey north delivered the full Australian trucking experience.
“One minute you’re pulling into a customer event in a regional centre, the next you’re watching the sun come up somewhere between Alice Springs and Tennant Creek,”
“That’s the beauty of this roadshow, it’s not just about showcasing trucks but also connecting with the people and industries that keep Australia moving.
“The FYJ and FXD didn’t miss a beat across the entire leg and when you spend this many hours in the cab, you really appreciate the refinements and driver comfort built into this new range.
“Of course, it’s not just the cab comfort – from the 6UZ1 engines providing ample power and torque to the smooth shifting Allison transmissions and Hendrickson airbag rear suspension eating up the bumps and undulations, they really are exceptional.”
The Adelaide-to-Darwin journey forms part of Isuzu’s wider 15,000-kilometre National Roadshow, which is currently making its way across the country visiting dealerships, customers and transport operators nationwide.
With Darwin officially ticked-off the map, the convoy turns eastbound for the next stage of the journey to Cairns as the MY25 range continues its lap around Australia.
