Ron Finemore Transport has taken delivery of its first Mercedes-Benz Actros ProCabin.

The leading Australian logistics company was keen to add the new Mercedes-Benz model to its fleet, soon after its local launch.

“Ron Finemore Transport’s focus on safety and efficiency is legendary within the industry, so we knew they would be keen to get into the amazing new Mercedes-Benz ProCabin,” said Daimler Truck Australia’s head honcho, Daniel Whitehead. “We’re also thrilled to hear the truck has been performing beyond expectations with efficiency and that the advanced safety suite is also much appreciated.”

Thanks to a specially designed cabin that cuts drag, the ProCabin delivers a significant fuel consumption reduction. It also benefits from a new five-radar active safety suite that has been introduced as standard across the whole Actros range.

Ron Finemore Transport CEO, James Dixon, said that operating advanced Mercedes-Benz vehicles aligns with its focus of safety and efficiency.

“Ron Finemore Transport is proud to operate the safest, youngest and most modern fleet in Australia and we are committed to boosting efficiency, driving down emissions and adopting the safest vehicles that we can get our hands on.

“It is still early on, but the ProCabin has already proven to be extremely efficient in its first month on the road. We are also extremely pleased that it features the Active Brake Assist 6 safety package because we are fully committed to the safety of our drivers and other road users.”

Daimler Truck’s Andrew Assimo, said the Mercedes-Benz ProCabin is showcasing how design innovation can make a difference to operating costs.

“The ProCabin has only just launched and is already delivering real world savings for our customers who are delighted, because driving fuel costs down has never been more critical to business success.”

The Ron Finemore Transport Actros, which was delivered by Daimler Trucks Albury, features a black Durabar bullbar that was developed with help from Mercedes-Benz engineers.

Proudly wearing the 2663 badge, the Finemore Transport ProCabin Actros features the top of the range - and powerful - 16-litre Mercedes-Benz engine matched to a seamless12-speed Automated Manual Transmission (AMT).

All Actros models now feature the Active Brake Assist 6 safety package that now includes five radars providing a 270-degree view around the vehicle and allows for optimum operation of the Active Side Guard Assist 2 (ASGA) system.

The backbone of this safety suite is a new electronics platform that can process data 20 times faster.

The new ProCabin design removes unwanted gaps and joins and guides air either around the cabin or straight into the truck’s cooling system.

This concentration of the airflow maintains the cooling effectiveness of the Actros.

There are also new sail-shaped side air deflectors at the rear of the cabin and a new roof spoiler as well as a new under-cab spoiler. Along with the new exterior design, these features reduce air turbulence and improve air flow.

BildGroup GOES ELECTRIC WITH FUSO eCANTER TIPPER TRUCK

BildGroup has taken delivery of its first all-electric truck.

The Australian civil construction company is now operating a Fuso eCanter.

The e918 tipper model has been added to the BildGroup fleet as part of the company’s sustainability program that focusses on transitioning to a low carbon future.

It is a fully-electric model, producing zero exhaust emissions and operating near-silently.

The first generation eCanter was the first OEM (factory-built) series-production electric truck available in Australia. The new generation model brings a raft of improvements included increased range, a class-leading eAxle for efficiency and a full-suite of active safety features.

BildGroup Environmental and Sustainability Manager, Jake Chitty, says that introducing the electric eCanter is a signal of intent regarding its sustainability pathway.

“We’re not waiting for the industry to change — we’re helping lead that change. This is the first of many steps toward modernising our fleet, reducing emissions, and aligning our business with the expectations of our clients and our people,” said Jack.

“From a sustainability standpoint, the introduction of the Fuso eCanter tipper is more than just adding a new truck to our fleet — it represents a meaningful shift in how BildGroup approaches environmental responsibility within our operations.”

The fact that the eCanter emits zero exhaust emissions and operates near silently will deliver key benefits.

“For our crews, this means safer, and more comfortable work environments. For our clients, it means projects that align with modern sustainability expectations. And for our business, it’s another step in future proofing our operations.“

Head of Daimler Truck Australia, Daniel Whitehead, applauded BildGroup for its environmental initiative.

“We are delighted to see companies such as BildGroup show such great leadership and make the move to battery electric trucks like the Fuso eCanter.

“There is no better way to prove the benefits of quality electric trucks like the eCanter than to see them in action with leading companies like BildGroup who are prepared to invest in productive sustainability.“

Daimler Truck Australia Pacific Vice President Sales, Marketing and Operations,  Andrew Assimo, says the advanced eCanter is the perfect truck for this job.

“The eCanter is a proven workhorse that gets the job done day in day out, and importantly, is equipped with the most advanced safety features,” he said. “We know BildGroup will just love it.”

The Fuso eCanter was first introduced into Australia in 2020. A new generation model has introduced a raft of new technology including the eAxle, which does away with a traditional driveshaft. Instead, the electric motor is integrated into the drive axle reducing weight and boosting efficiency.
