Australian First:
Borcat, Haulmark & Mack Trucks Collaborate on Groundbreaking Live Bottom Truck for Queensland Tippers.
Gold Coast, QLD — In a landmark collaboration between Borcat Trailers, Haulmark, and Mack Trucks, a revolutionary new truck featuring a Gincor Werx Live Bottom body—an Australian f irst—has officially hit the road.
Imported from Canada, the Gincor Live Bottom system is redefining how materials are transported across industries, offering a safer, more versatile alternative to traditional tipping bodies. With both rigid and trailer live bottom configurations, this innovative unit can handle an impressive array of materials—from hotmix asphalt, gravel, and sand to agricultural products, mining materials, chemical fertilizers, dry lime, potash, calcium, coke/fly ash, and milings.
The project centres around a specially designed Mack 10x4 Anthem, equipped with a 13-speed crawler gearbox, tailor-built for this unique application. The truck is paired with a 3.2mm Hardox 450 steel body, manufactured with insulated sides to maintain the precise temperatures needed for asphalt—reducing sticking and maximising payload quality.
This pioneering specification has been acquired by Queensland Tippers, a Gold Coast-based operator with a fleet of approximately 45 trucks. The unit is set to be deployed immediately for hotmix and waste material operations, offering significant gains in efficiency, safety, and productivity.
In a further innovation, the rigid body lifts to 22 degrees—not for tipping, but to provide safe access to the chassis for maintenance, a first-of-its-kind feature in Australia.
“This collaboration is a game-changer,” said Tony O’Connell, Vice President Mack Trucks. “We believe this will set a new benchmark in operational safety and material versatility.”
By bringing together leading global and Australian manufacturing expertise, this truck represents a step forward in transport innovation—designed to meet the growing demands of the infrastructure, mining, and agricultural sectors.
